jmb advanced clinical massage was established in 2006 when I qualified as an Holistic Massage Therapist.
My passion for continued professional development led me to The Jing Institute in Brighton where I learned my advanced techniques and graduated in 2012 as one of the first 40 therapists in the UK to be trained to degree level in Advanced Clinical and Sports Massage Therapy (BTEC level 6). I am extremely proud to be part of a growing number of massage therapists now recognised as health care professionals as I continue to further my knowledge and experiences each year.
I started my career as a professional dancer, singer and acrobat so I have 11 years’ experience of understanding the body’s limits, strengths, weaknesses and its ability to excel, perform and grow. Unfortunately, I have first- hand experience of injury and the physical and emotional trauma this can cause but also, with the right treatment and rehab, how amazing the body is at healing. I taught dance, drama and singing to 5 to 11 year olds at a local Performing Arts School for four years before retraining as a massage therapist.
For four years I was the Safeguarding Governor at a local secondary school and now I am the Welfare Officer at a local junior football club. I attend regular safeguarding and child protection workshops and hold a valid DBS (criminal records check).
My clients range in age for 6 to 90 and present with a wide range of issues and conditions. I aim to provide a safe space for my clients to relax, feel heard, connect, unwind, laugh, cry and ultimately feel better. My goal is for my clients to feel better not only physically, but better about themselves. To leave with a deeper understanding of the cause of their pain, knowledge of how to improve and make changes, information on rehab exercises, and hope that there may be an end to their chronic pain and immobility.
