Identifying the cause is the key, followed by making lifestyle adjustments to prevent pain recurring.
Our muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia are designed to work in harmony to keep us perfectly balanced and functioning optimally. When we perform a repetitive task, sit in the same position every day, or when one of our muscles is strained or over-loaded, or our pelvis is out of alignment, our entire body works hard to compensate, correct and protect and it does so quietly, behind the scenes.
All the while, we continue to push ourselves, be it at the gym or at work, experiencing the emotional and physical stresses of juggling our jobs and lifestyles. Eventually we start to ache and everyday movements become painful simply because our bodies can no long function correctly, it reaches a tipping point.
Each client has an individual treatment plan with the intention of delivery the desired outcome to ensure long term results. It is important to work with soft tissue, not against it, so the techniques used are mindful of the individual’s pain threshold and tolerances.
Rehabilitation is an important part of recovering from chronic pain, so a program of strengthening and stretching exercises is often given to complete at home.
